Pets are an integral part of 85 million American homes, and that number is set to rise. Between 2019 and 2020, pet ownership experienced a 7% bump when the typical growth is between 1%-2% each year. This is good news for the pet care franchise industry.
What is less quantifiable is the shift in how pet owners care for their animals. The health conscious trends Americans are experiencing for themselves are trickling down to their pets, particularly in how they eat. Pet Evolution’s mission of being the go-to pet care franchise for quality pet food may be the perfect match with the way people shop for their pets. At Pet Evolution, we put animal wellness first, and our customers feel that.
How Pet Evolution is Becoming the Go-To Pet Care Franchise
We started with the founding principle that, much like with people, pet health begins with a healthy diet. Founders Rian Thiele and Mike Osborn had grown up with animals who experienced health troubles like chronic ear infections, itchy paws, and food allergies. The longtime friends shared a passion for creating a dog care franchise opportunity where animal lovers like themselves could find quality, healthy pet foods to minimize recurring illnesses and allergies so their furry family members had a better quality of life.
Pet Evolution is that pet care franchise. It has a small-town hardware store feel because each location is staffed by team members who develop a relationship with each customer who comes into the shop. Through these relationships, we can learn about the needs of our customers’ pets. We’ve done extensive research on our pet food vendors to only offer products that are good for the health, digestion, and nutrition of pets.
The 4 Food Categories
Let’s be honest, pet food information is plentiful and confusing in the pet care franchise industry. Most pet owners, no matter how dearly they love their pets, are not experts in animal nutrition. That’s one reason they come to Pet Evolution—we can help them match the needs of their animal with the high-quality dog and cat foods that can be the most beneficial.
We’ve categorized our foods into four tiers to begin narrowing down what each customer’s animal requires. From there, they can determine what foods will best suit their pet’s dietary requirements.
Select
We begin with foods that set a healthy foundation for animals from the very start. These foods contain no corn, wheat, or soy products. They also have no added fillers, artificial sweeteners or colors, and they contain no byproducts. They are made up of only humanely sourced meats.
Classic
The Classic foods share all of the benefits of the Select foods and add fruits and vegetables. Dogs are naturally omnivores, and they will seek out fruits and vegetables to round out their nutrient requirements. These Classic foods fit that requirement well.
Signature
Signature foods benefit from all the requirements of the Classic category and add increased protein. Protein is a key ingredient for the health and maintenance of almost all the tissues in a dog’s body. Some dogs require greater amounts of protein, such as police dogs, service animals, search and rescue dogs, or those who have higher energy requirements. Protein helps dogs maintain a healthy weight as well.
Signature Plus
The Signature Plus category includes all the benefits of the Signature category and offers premium raw or freeze-dried food options. These options preserve the nutritional integrity of bioavailable foods for a more natural animal diet that keeps wholesome nutrition intact.
Pet Evolution: The Pet Care Franchise That Offers More
At Pet Evolution, we hope to provide our customers with the tools they need to give their pets the best life. We started with selling only foods that meet our stringent requirements, and we continue that with the way we’ve developed our pet care franchise opportunities.
Through franchising, we can continue to keep the small-town feel and personal relationships of our original locations because our franchise owners are on-hand to develop those ties with the customers and their pets. It’s easier to keep that personal connection in place with a franchising model.
Our pet care franchise development team has extensive experience in franchising, and we’ve built a franchise program that is designed to give each franchise owner everything they need for their Pet Evolution location.
The Pet Evolution Franchise Investment Opportunity
The initial investment estimate for a Pet Evolution unit is between $424,500 and $598,550, which includes a $49,000 franchise fee.
Included in that is an extensive 5-day classroom and on-hand training program at our headquarters and flagship store in Woodbury, MN. We also offer our franchise owners experienced advice with site selection, store construction, signage, and the initial inventory requirements. We’ll assist owners with their store’s grand opening, and continue to support them with periodic site visits and ongoing training.
Our franchise owners will receive access to our confidential operations manual that details key procedures for day-to-day operations. We also provide technological tools that aid in operations, accounting, scheduling, payroll, POS, inventory tracking, and security. Franchise owners will be privy to ongoing marketing strategies developed by the brand, and will receive support for developing local marketing campaigns to build relationships with their local communities.
The Pet Evolution is Putting Pets First
At every Pet Evolution pet care franchise, we understand that pets are part of our customers’ families. People who care about their pets the way we care about them deserve a dog care franchise designed to help them easily find the highest quality products and services available. We also believe there are pet lovers out there looking for business opportunities that fuel their passion for animals.
If helping pet owners give their furry family members the best life sounds like a business opportunity you’d love to experience, give us a call to learn more about a Pet Evolution pet care franchise opportunity today. We can’t wait to meet you!
